Winning posters are on display in Medina County during National Library Week

Reading is a favorite pastime for many who aim to acquire more knowledge about their favorite subjects, drift off into an imaginary world, or just relax and enjoy a few good verses of poetry.

For National Library Week Sunday through April 17, the Medina County district libraries will be celebrating in a variety of ways, including hanging the winning posters from the children’s poster contest in the various libraries.

Three age groups competed in the contest...

“Usually, I do it with pencil, then with Sharpie, and then I color it in,” said Carly McNellie, 8, of Medina (Christian Academy), winner of her age group. “I just thought of a place you could read. I love to read.”

Mcnellie’s poster shows a girl in a chair reading, with her feet up in front of a book shelf. Mcnellie’s favorite book is, “Misty of Chincoteague” by Marguerite Henry.
