  • The study of God's Word is a priority at MCA.
  • Bible Class is required for all grade levels.
  • Biblical truths are integrated throughout the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of the Bible is one of the greatest educational assets anyone can have in addition to the moral and spiritual values resulting from the study of it.
  • Character development is the most important work of a school. No other course offered in the school affords so great an opportunity for laying the foundation for a good and sound character.

Statement of Faith

Medina Christian Academy believes:

  • That the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, and the Christian's final authority from God (II Timothy 3:16 ).
  • We accept the Genesis account of creation and believe man came by divine creation of God and not by evolution (Genesis 1 & 2).
  • The birth of Jesus Christ is evidence of His deity, in that He was virgin born and was God in the flesh (Matthew 1:30 ).
  • The blood of Christ, shed on Calvary, is the only atonement for man's sin (Hebrews 9:10 ).
  • We believe in the burial and the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus from the tomb, and His ascension into Heaven (I Corinthians 15:1-3).
  • The body of Christ, called also the Church, is composed of all born-again believers, who have by faith accepted Christ as Lord (Ephesians 5).
  • The two ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
  • The blessed hope of the church is the personal Pre-millennial return of the Lord Jesus to earth (Titus 2:13).
  • The believer's call to a life of holiness gives evidence to the world that Jesus saves, keeps and satisfies (Romans 12:1).

Medina Christian Academy holds:

  • That the Bible is the infallible, divine Word of God
  • That salvation by faith in Christ is the initial step in the Christian life.
  • That there is adequate biblical basis for the idea of spiritual growth into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29), which is the Word of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 3:19 ).
  • That this growth begins with the initial act of saving faith and continues throughout life.
  • That the Holy Spirit makes the Christian conscious of the biblical demands for a holy life which fulfills both God's moral law and high law of love (Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 15:14).
  • That the result is a life consecrated unto God and separated from the world.

Standard of Conduct

In accordance with our Statement of Faith, Medina Christian Academy, must, therefore, provide an environment conducive to the spiritual growth and development of young people who are not yet mature Christians. A standard of conduct based on the following Bible imperatives is necessary to provide such an environment. All of the activities of the Christian must be subordinated to the glory of God who indwells us (I Corinthians 8:9, 12-13, 10:31 ). The Christian will endeavor to avoid practices which cause the loss of sensitivity to the spiritual needs of the world and loss of the Christian's physical, mental or spiritual well-being (I Corinthians 9:27).

A sense of the need for spiritual growth in the light of these principles has led us to adopt the following standards which it is believed are conducive to the environment that will best promote the spiritual welfare of the student. The school, therefore, requires each student--whether at home, school or elsewhere--

  1. Not to engage in swearing, indecent language, smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, the abuse of drugs (illegal or abuse of over the counter), gambling and sensual dancing.
  2. To maintain Christian standards in courtesy, kindness, morality and honesty and not to dishonor the Holy Trinity and the Word of God.
  3. To use Christian standards and good judgment which are to be extended to the types of music, reading materials, movies, videos and television programs which students view.

Students are expected to abide by these Standards of Conduct throughout their enrollment whether at home, school or elsewhere. Medina Christian Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student who is found to be out of harmony with these standards of work and life, even though there may be no special breach of conduct.

The school cannot over-emphasize the importance of regular weekly attendance in a Christian church where God's Word is preached. This is vital in the support of the Christian home. One's commitment to Christian education as offered at MCA, is evidenced by the family's commitment to the local church. The Christian school is not a substitute for regular family worship in church.

Christian Ethics

We believe that there are certain dangers to be avoided by the Christian. Some of these pitfalls are readily discernible. Others are difficult to identify. The Bible plainly teaches that the believer should walk a separated life from the thoughts, intents and deeds of the world (I John 2:15 -17, James 4:4). The Bible sets forth some excellent standards whereby we may judge that which is right or wrong.

Does the thought, word or deed . . .

  1. Enslave? (I Corinthians 6:12)
  2. Cause others to stumble or be offended? (Romans 14:13)
  3. Build me up in the faith? (Corinthians 10:31)
  4. Leave a continuing doubt after it has been analyzed? (Romans 14:23)
  5. Glorify the Lord? (I Corinthians 10:31)
  6. Aid me in drawing others to Christ? (I Corinthians 9:19)

As Christians, we should be extremely sensitive, cautious and careful in all these areas. Our goal is, by love, to serve one another. (Galatians 5:13, I Corinthians 8:9)
